Figure I’d move this from the what did you do today thread to it’s own as I troubleshoot this issue.
Noticed very wet carpet in the rear after heavy rain and decided to troubleshoot.
Pulled everything out of the rear area: carpet, trim panels, etc.
Water seems to be coming in from a few places:
When sitting inside the car with the rear door shut, you can stick your entire finger between the door and the weather stripping in the top left corner. There’s no contact between it and the door.
I have the Becky tire carrier installed, but it’s not even a year old and only carrying a 31” tire. I’d be shocked if door sag this badly set in already.
At a loss as to how to troubleshoot this. Replacing the weather stripping is easy enough, but if it isn’t even contacting the door…I don’t know how to fix that.

Water seems to be coming in from a few places:
- Underneath the weather stripping.
- Between the door and the body. The door isn’t contacting the weather stripping *at all* in the upper left corner (driver side)
