Rear door lock/unlock

Let me start by saying I used the search function but didn't find a post that related to this issue specifically...

Picked up an '02 and trying to determine if this is a 'feature' or if something is broken. I carry an old key shell when i go fishing and for some reason I can only unlock all doors using the key hole on the rear door but not lock all doors. When I try from the Driver or Passenger side doors it works for both lock and unlock all.

Could just the the contact on the lock side. Pull it apart and clean it up, see if that works.

Thanks Trunk Monkey. I dug in and focused on the lock cylinder and the plastic clip with electrical connections that rides on top of it. My thought is that since the tailgate will lock from the remote (or from the driver door) that the problem may be closer to the key cylinder. When i removed and cleaned the plastic piece, i ran a continuity test back to the first plug and all 3 wires checked out fine. I can't seem to find a picture of the second picture below on-line, does anyone know if this piece looks correct or if there should be a small metal tab on both sides (not just the one)?
