The FJ62 I recently bought has a Downey rear disc brake conversion with the parking brake. The parking brake cable setup is also from Downey, but the passenger side cable is broken and needs to be replaced. I tried to call Downey for help, and of course they only want to sell me the entire setup, to the tune of $100.00. Since the conversion kit is GM parts, I'm wondering if the cables are also GM. My first guess would be from a early to mid eighties Cadillac. Does anyone happen to know if this is true, or what the replacement part is? I hate to buy a whole kit just to get one cable. Thanks in advance!

Find a local cable shop and they can most likely make a direct replacement for the broken cable.

Heard Downey gets the rear disc conversion from The Streetrod Manufacturing Co (tsmmfg.com) - they recommend CUSTOM CABLES (562) 949-0455 for e-brake cables. Might be where yours came from originally.

Thanks! I'll try to contact them Monday.
