I changed my oil this weekend for the first time.. As I crawled under the truck's passenger side, I looked up to find red stalactites in the area of the starter????? Any ideas where this comes from ? I was unable to see up the back of the motor (couldn't find my flashlight). Is there a heater hose back there ????
By the way I also have a water pump leak :censor:
Thanks

Not sure on that, the water pump issue is pretty well documented here. Good luck.

I had a leak from a coolant distribution point underneath the intake manifold. It sits in the V of the motor, so it is very hard to see. Possible you may have the same and it is draining towards the rear.

How did you diagnose it? Did you repair it or have it done

It was found while fixing a chewed up knock sensor wire (rodent damage). Because it involve pulling the intake manifold, I had a shop do it. I checked my paperwork and he referred to the job as "reseal case separator". Was $93 in O-rings and two hours of labor.

I had had a slow coolant leak for a long time that nobody had been able to find, even after Carmax paid to replace the water pump. They paid for this job as well.

Thanks
