I'm looking at new coils for my 100 series and would like it to be around 3 inches in the rear.

What spring will give me that height as well as a decent ride that is not bone jarring that can handle a good load in the back?

How are the OME 863s ? How much lift will they give me in the rear loaded/unloaded?
My worst nightmare is sagging coils. I have the choice of Dobinson springs, lovells and King springs but i don't hear much about them on this forum.
I will be driving on off road tracks often so i want something that will handle the abuse while maintaining the height with a decent ride.
Thanks and any pictures of 863 100s are welcome.

I really like the stance of this 100, any info about what lift is running and how high it is in the front/rear?

First 2 pics are with 33's on 863's. Last is with 35's. I have always found the 863's a little stiff, even with bumpers, armour, drawers, tools, racks etx. I have just added water tank and rear skid , so they handle the weight well.

Check out the 860s. They'll give you almost a 3" lift without armor. Crank the stock torsion bars some upfront, consider a front diff bracket from slee.

863s with stock weight will be very harsh. You could also just try 30mm spring spacers in the rear if you want to keep the stock ride.

I think these are what you're talking about. They were perfect but fell apart after a few years.

Yes it was clean under there. The truck only had 600 miles or so on it then. :D

Can you run the 860 springs with a 30mm spacer, or does the Stinkbug get out of control at that point? Looking for as much clearance as I can get. No rear bumper and just basic camping gear in back. Thanks.

Bumity bump... I'm installing my lift Friday and would like to know if I can use the spacer too. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

In a stock truck with stock front upper control arms and stock torsion bars I would NOT run the spacer. Actually I doubt you'll like the acceptable rake with the 860 without addressing the front end. If you crank the bars to match the 860's you'll quickly run out of droop on the front and caster will be way out.

I've been down this road.

I have 863's with 30mm spacers and OME 2.5" TB in front cranked. I had the guys at Land Cruiser Specialists tweak it out for me. I'm running a TJM T3 front and have a BIOR dual rear coming. As it sets now there is 1.25" of rake. With the rear it should set at about 1" +/-. Honestly it looks great. For some reason the rake is much less noticeable than when stock. Handles like a dream. Still have comfortable ride. I am running the Slee diff drop too. I'll try and get a picture up. Technology is not my friend sometimes.

What are your measurements on the suspension front and rear (measuring from hub center to fender lip)? How much droop do you have in front?

Do you offroad your truck? If you are running Bilstein 4600 rear shocks with the suspension you indicate you will pull them apart at the top shaft. The 4600 is too short.

Only mild to moderate stuff. I'll have to check which Billie's I'm running. My fender to ground is 35 3/4" x just under 37". 285's on 16's so whatever that adds up to divided by two subtract from 36 . I'll check the hub to fender. This actually came up the other day when we were working on it. Concerned about travel.

I'm thinking the 863 + a spacer is 3"+ rear lift... matching the front (even with a 1" rake) is likely taken all of the down travel out of the front unless you have long travel (TC/SPC etc) upper control arms.

I liked the Bilstein 4600 on my truck right up to the point they pulled apart. I was running 860s at the time... this is a known problem on these shocks for the Land Cruiser.

Are you still using the Bilstiens? Hows the ride?

What springs and shocks are you using now?

Wow!! My wife would kill me. I think I need to find a more economical option.. How do you like them?

My suspension setup is in response to learning the various hardships like the too short Bilsteins. There are plenty of lower cost shock options, including non-remote Rad Flo's. In terms of like, I'm now enjoying them. Before steel bumpers the shocks were harsh, but I knew they would be going in as they are valved for a built rig.

@RobRed. Since I'll be doing my lift in stages. Do you have any recommendations on shocks? I don't want a super stiff ride.
