I know this is well documented but mine i leaking and I took some pictures and would just like some help from the IH8MUD 100 community and pinpointing that way I can fix the problem. I've always appreciated this site and the kindness of forum members. Little bit about my cruiser its an 06 with the rear spoiler. The rear third brake light has the cover. But i'm still guessing that is were the leak is coming from. There is no leak in the jack space. I fixed that with putting silicone in the roof rack screws. So i'll post the pictures and would greatly appreciate all of your help members. Thanks!

@Bomar can it be the third brake light cover, because the third brake light is on my 'spoiler'

@Bomar is it common to leak under the spoiler mounts as well or tell me more? I'll take that beer anyways!

@Bomar first off thanks for the big help and i will try all this. So your saying it could be were the windshield washer fluid nozzle is as well. You can see it on the third picture. I have some questions what kind of RVT do you recommend. and do you have any pry tools that you would suggest to buy. i don't have mine when i moved didn't know if there was a good brand or buy some cheap amazon ones. But what i'll do is try to tackle this and post some pictures. probably not today. But to recall you believe it could be where the
1. the spoiler mounts the body
2. window nozzle spayer mount
3. rear brake light cover on body

the soap test it would bubble on outside correct? or pull all panels back and bubble inside?

Select OUTSIDE/FRESH air (not RECIRC) and blower on max, doors + windows closed and this will pressurize the vehicle - you'll feel air blowing out the rear Q panel vents - and lather soapy water (I've used those foaming hand cleaner bottles with great results) externally around the 3rd brake light cover and general area. The leak will be self evident. In one of the other rear cargo leak threads I've posted pictures of the 3rd brake light cover blowing nice big bubbles on the outside. Remove cover, clean surfaces, reseal with your favorite gasket forming goop or RTV and it's done.

Do this ∆

small soap test, i think i'm going to do a more thorough but would that be were the brake light leaks, i'm thinking it might be the seal around the hatch if the one pictures show the leak?

Check the penetrations and 3rd brake cover at the top of your hatch, not the lights down lower. In my case water was penetrating a failed seal on the 3rd brake light cover trim (the horizontal blank on the hatch frame that is semi obscured by the spoiler) and running down the insides of the rear window hatch inner trim - the trim piece that runs up each side of the rear window and across the interior top - and dripping out onto the carpet at the tailgate, exactly like yours but not as bad. If you remove that inner trim I bet you'll see water track marks. If you search the word "soapy" posted by me you'll get a nice image of what/where I'm talking about.

x2 on removing the inner trim. They come off with little effort. When I was fighting a leak in the rear hatch area I pulled all the trim pieces and it was very easy to see where water was coming. I sat inside and had my wife spray a hose on the rear hatch. In my case it was the weather stripping that runs around entire circumference of the rear hatch. While my stripping was in place it had lifted due to grime build up under neath. Was hard to notice until I sat in the back and had someone spray water.

@n55luvr i just fixed mine it was the third brake light dripped like a banshee. but now i still have the driver side rear leak. i looked at my weather stripping and it looks bad should i replace or just clean and push it back on there? i think it got bad because of all the water leaking before and ten year old grime

i made a video so everyone can see it, because people on here doubt it. It literally runs like a damn hose out of that thing @Bomar
