I just purchased a new 80, and I has a little bumper damage in the rear, I was wondering if you think I would need a new bumper or can I just get the PS bumper cover that is missing in the Pic. Also Do you think I need a new Tailgate or is it something that can be fixed.??? Just wanting to get some ideas of what needs to happen. Or where can I get some of the parts..??

The "rear bumper" is really just the frame (the metal part of the bumper) and the plastic ends.
You can't replace the center section without cutting it off (it's the rearmost cross member of the vehicle frame).

Just replace the plastic end cap.

Looks like you need more than a bumper there... :flipoff2:
Well since it’s not the easiest and best idea to replace the read quarter panel I’d say that the body shop will just try to pull out and straighten out and bondo that corner. As for the top and bottom tailgates, Yes both would be repairable, the bottom one would be easier than the top one. Since most people esp in your area might have rust forming on the top part of their tailgates (search for rush around the rear window) they would opt for a newer rust free part... My opinion is that you will be spending at least 2000 on repairs. I had a dent and a few scrapes very minor stuff from last year where a guy hit me in a parking lot and he had to pay 1200 for repairs....
If you know how to source the parts you'll be ok...a passenger tail can be found here 4 cheap.

And as for the bodywork, as long as u trust the shop and their not going to charge you an arm and a leg you’d be ok. Just make sure that their reliable.. I know of a lotta shops out here that tend to do a half ass job and just cover the area with bondo and call it a day...

and if your going to do mods like the arb front bumpers and sliders.. Just get an upgraded rear bumper also... but that alone will raise your costs by 1200-2000 depending on new/used and what brand

Oh and good luck hope to see the rig as good as new soon...:D

I would do one of two things. one, i would take both plastic bumper ends off, fix your lense cover (probably somone on the board has one for cheap that they'll sell you) and call it done.

Or, I would take off the interior panel covering the rr quarter panel, remove the broken lense and take a small hammer and start to pound out the dents as good as you can, find a replacement corner piece from a local mudder along with the lense cover and be done.

Or, you could durabak it.

My wife did the same thing to mine on the drivers side. Got the LED lights from MOT and took the plastic sides off, now it looks cool and there's less to get torn off when I'm abusing it :)

OK Hopefully I cant get the two tailgates from that guy in texas, (thanks informationjunky for the link) and just have them repainted, as far as the that corner piece, if i can find a guy that has the rubber bumper corner piece for the right side would be awesome, as well as a new tailight. Then I would be in business. and maybe somehow cleanup that rear corner with the hammer idea, and she will be good as new.

There you go bud, i think you are on the right track. Depends really if you are going for form or function. I tend to lean more towards function, but i also don't want it to look like crap. Cheap yet effective is what i say.
