Stop calling it a "FJ."
Hi All:
I've heard that Toyota did not use the same brake systems uniformly across the Land Cruiser vehicle line-up.
Examples would be US market 40 & 55 Series getting disc brake frontends on 1976 models while other markets retained front drum brakes. Also, I've heard of factory parts being available to fit a parking brake assembly onto the rear of the "split" type transfer case - were any 60 Series supplied this way??
Anyone know of any other brake weirdness from the factory?
For instance, did *ALL* 40/45/55 Series go to the rear axle mounted parking brake assembly in 1979, like US market FJ40 had??
Thanks!
