the rod coming out of the LSVP does have a natural bend to it. if you move just keep track of the original position so you can put it back. if you put a lift kit on then it will need to be readjusted but other then that lt should be good. if moving the rod up/down doesnt change the fluid output of the LSVP then most likely that is your problem. to my limited knowledge there is not a rebuild kit for it, and not sure if you can take it apart and clean it. but it is worth a try..
