Howdy. I have installed a 2" body lift on the HJ60 and want to make a new rear bar for it. I was hoping that someone else has already done this and I could steal their ideas! Pics would be great.

Cheers,

Mark.

SOR sells an extended length strut as part of a kit (page 104 of their catalog). If you have a welder, you should be able to cut the strut and lengthen it. Either use solid rod of the same diameter, or, better, find a piece of tubing that the solid rod will slip into.

2mmb, I think our Aussie friend might be referring to a rear bumper instead of the antisway bar....a body lift wouldn't affect the bar since it mounts to the frame instead of the body.

Sixty's Guy, can you clarify? I think we may have a slight conflict of terminology across the pond! :)

Yeh, sorry guys - a rear bumper! The stock bumper looks fairly average with the body lift on. I bought a rear wheel carrier and will modify it to fit when I work how I'm going to make the new bar.

Sixty's Guy, I'm thinking any aftermarket bumper will work, you just need to modify the mounting. The easiest way would be to modify the mounting brackets on the bar, but you could also make the changes on the frame (check for local regulations, though, I know you guys have some engineering restrictions on this type of mods down under) mount.

I would suggest a custom bumper that incorporates a dedicated rear tire carrier and is designed to work with your body lift!
