So I'm a schmo. Bought a nice-ish laptop some years ago, just recently gots the wifi @ home...

Thought I'd pop out the SD card from camera to upload pix ('steada pulln out the cables), and.... mighta screwed the pooch.

How does one remove a mid-size (dont' know the lingo, sorry) SD card from the 'fullish'-size adapter, so as to fit said adapter into the slot?

Nope, bent paper-clip ain't worked so far, n I mite b :hillbilly:, but I still don't wanna poke metal into electric outlets.

Okay, so I do, but I theoretically know it will end badly, so.... :meh:

Cross posting to chat.

not sure I understand the question. did you take the SD card out of the camera successfully and put in the wrong slot in an external USB adapter? is it a small memory stick with a larger memory stick adapter that is supposed to fit into your computer or an adpater?

what does it say on the outside of the card and adapter?

You might have to push it in farther to get it to release the card. Use some needlenose pliers and pull it out. I have taken apart laptops, phoned, wii' and stuff and never got shocked with it unplugged.

Useless without pics:hhmm:

^ funny tyler, real funny.

yes monnie, I pushed it in, til I heard the 'click', then pushed again to un-click. the paperclip barely fits, no way needlenose will get in there, but that gives me an idea for in the morning: tick tweezers, for my dogs!

it is a medium sized SD card that must've wanted the next size up adapter, all I can think. gots the adapter, just didn't think it through before i passed the point of no return. :blonde: (not monnies version, either)

Thanks ya'll, will let you know how it goes.

Tick tweezers might work. I'd also consider making a tootpick T and trying to super glue the edge of the SD card to the top of the T... let it set and then pull.

Sorry, I'm a visually oriented problem solver:flipoff2:

Ok here are 2 way lateral thoughts:

2) Use a soldering gun to carefully melt an access groove adjacent to each side of the SD card. Then use needle nose pliers...

1) use a sharp, strong, fine tipped knife and using the side of the reader as leverage try and use the knife tip to pry up the SD card after poking the tip into the card if you can access enough of it's profile.

TY

SOLUTION: Tick tweezers, plus keychain knife blade to assist in opening the tweezers enuf to gain purchase.

Moral of this story: next time, just use the damn cable.

Thanks for ya'lls help!
