Edit: I got it. (Whew!)

This was during install, not removal, which means two things:

1) I'm a complete dumbass for overtorquing it, but

2) It wasn't frozen at all; after a little PB Blaster, I was actually able to get a screwdriver in there and just back it out using the jagged broken edge of the bolt.

Beer time; I'll deal with the rest of it tomorrow.

I broke a bolt while installing a new water pump in my Cressida.

Anyone with time/tools/experience that can help in the very near future??

I'm available any time now through Thurday.

In a pinch I've had great success with a cold chisel in the past...for future referance. And if ya need a hand you can always feel free to give me a call. Glad to hear that you got it handled this time.

The kits for pulling that kind of thing use a small drill to punch a hole and a reverse thread screw (basically) to dig in then back out the original bolt. Don't know if that helps with anything you may have had laying around but thats what people pay the $$ for.

What years the cressida? Need an engine for it?

84 wagon. 5M-GE straight six DOHC, but only 12-valve, unlike the later 7M's. Oh, and without the headgasket problems of the 7M.

The exterior looks like crap, but the interior's fine and it runs great. I repaired the A/C, and in addition it has cruise control, power doors and windows, tilt wheel, etc. Great car for its age.

Need an engine for it?

Well I was just wondering, LoL. I happen to have a 5M-GE sitting on a pallet behind my house. Out of my old 85 Cressida. It was supposed to go into my white yota, then my brothers blue yota but we don't have either of those now.
The car was a piece of crap but it ran great . . . before my brother had the engine ripped out.

I was actually in Sears (less than a mile from my house) between when I first posted and then updated. I just kept telling myself, "Slow down... think... don't panic..."

Then instead of buying any tools I went down the street to my favorite corner market and bought a couple of good beers. Came home, got the bolt out, and then *really* enjoyed those beers!
