Hi All:

Need some real-time help re. re-installing the running boards (ONLY doing it because my lady needs them to make it easier climbing in & out putting the baby in the carseat...they'll come off as soon as Jr is older, LOL)

Thought I kept the hardware but can't find it  :crybaby:

Can anyone help by posting the hardware (size & length of bolts/nuts, etc.) I'll need for the re-install? Pics would be great if available.

Thanks in advance fellow Cruiser fans!

Extremely helpful! Any chance of you or someone else knowing the sizes of the hardware (bolt grade, size, etc.?)

Going to have to run to the Auto Parts store or Home Depot since I, quite stupidly, didn't keep the original hardware when I took the boards off a few years back

If you give me a couple days I can check mine. I put all the bolts back into the truck after taking the running boards off to avoid losing them and to keep the threads sealed. I should install them with thread sealer anyway. If anyone knows a good source for metric bolts, please let us know.

Lowes has a good selection of metric bolts/nuts. I believe Ace has a good bit as well. Not sure if you have Lowes/Ace in CA.

You guys rock!!

I have a terrific Ace Hardware location close to me, and Klaus if you can reply in a few days with the exact specs of what I need I'd be extremely grateful!

I just tossed my running boards and hardware last week. If you can't find them at a hardware store, I would look for someone trying to sell or give away there running boards on the "for sale" forum, and ask them to send you the hardware. I would have sent you mine but i JUST threw it all away.
Good luck.

Ace hardware has the best selection of on-the-shelf metric hardware of any non-specialty hardware store. Forget Lowes or HD, they have jack when it comes to hardware. If you have a Grainger, McMaster-Carr or Fastenal distribution center nearby, those carry metric stuff too.

i've got my hardare in a ziploc somewhere in my garage and can measure if nobody gets to it first.

Hi Gang,

Picking up the hardware from the dealer today- thanks a million to all for the help!

A bit of a sad day- running boards going on, downsizing from 285/75R16 back to the original Michelins 275/70R16- but my 8-week-old son & his momma are worth it :D

(Gotta make that climb in with the baby a bit easier)

MUCH better alternative than going with a different vehicle though. :D
