So I was replacing a brake caliper slide pin when a couple of my lug nuts froze up on their lugs. So I broke them off and got new ones from toyota. Now here's the trouble...

I can't pull my rotor off. The parking break is off, calipers removed. The ebrake cable seems a little bit tight but I don't know how to loosen it or if it wouldhelp.

I inserted the screws to pull the rotor off and when both were all the way in the rotor was out about an inch but I couldn't pull it off. so i removed the screws and the rotor went back to its original position which I thought was weird. The rotor will kind of wobble if i shake it with ebrake off and wont budge when it's on.

So I'm thinking ebrake is too tight even when off but cant figure out how to loosen it. Maybe thats not it though please help as I need my car functional for xmas. Thanks a lot guys and merry christmas.

Thanks man I read that and everything else I could find. The rotor is really wobbly and loose im afraid if i bfh it ill break some ebrake stuff inside. It feels like an ebrake pad is stuck in its shoe

I second the hammer...try with small taps all the way around, it should loosen up for you.

Can you move the e-brake bell crank by hand? The bell crank is what the e-brake cable attaches to behind the brake dust shield. Try disconnecting the e-brake cable from the bell crank to see if this might be contributing to your problem...

Or better yet just loosen the star adjuster apart of the e-brake drum pad adjustment. Find the little nickel size rubber grommet on the outside face of the rotor hat and rotate the same rubber grommet so its at 6:00. Then, with a medium flat blade screwdriver, loosen the star adjuster wheel thereby taking tension off the brake pads. Sorry I can't remember if you rotate the screwdriver blade up or down to loosen the adjustment but you'll figure it out...

Thhanks a lot guys gafc hlped me with the manula which helped me make sense of what spresso and rob said about the little wheel adjuster. That was the key. Also makes me wonder if that means the ebrake is constantly rubbing when i drive bringing down mpg even farther..?

Anyway thanks again guys and merry christmas

Which way do you turn the e brake adjuster to loosen on drivers side Up or down?

Guess I should also mention I'm trying to remove rear rotor and both of the shoe hold down pins springs etc. have popped off , I drilled a extra hole in rotor to access the brake adjuster so I need to be sure to turn it the correct way and in hoping it functions with the hold down clips not in place

It's down to loosen it up, I found it in the video
