Real time help needed-belt replacement

Well, I am almost done, however, I have reached a snag. When tightening the drive adjusting lock bolt, my belts are in the way of the bolt. Are they too tight? I used RacerLex's thread on replacement and it helped tremendously. When he shows the actual tightening of the lock bolt his 12mm fits without a problem, so I am wondering if the belts are too tight. I used a 1/2 deflection as a guide. Thanks and any help would be appreciated as I am ready for this job to be done. Lee.

I remember when I did my belts that there was some interference tightening the bolt. I just used a deep socket and short extension, and pushed the belts out of the way.

Thanks to everyone who post insightful information on this forum!! I am a newbie mechanic who is fascinated with learning how to wrench on my cruiser.
