If there's anyone on the board tonight with electrical skills, could you PM me with your number and humor me with a couple questions? You'll need a factory wiring diagram for the 97 though I suspect the lock wiring's all the same for 93-97s.

I've got the system hooked up and operating, but the locks aren't responding as expected. There are two basic types of locking systems - one grounds out the locks to switch (Toyota), the other provides power to switch them.

I will be respectful of your time, and it shouldn't be rocket science. Thanks in advance!

Man, what a simple project to go awry. Cancel everything - thanks for the PMs. I went back through the wiring and a splice had not cut all the way down to a wire to make a connection. While waiting for you guys, I put jumpers on the bypassed MY wiring and everything worked as expected. So I pulled all the splices apart and found one that had some kind of manufacturing variance leaving its gap a hair wide. So now I'm doing what I should have in the first place - tossing the quick splice thingies and pulling out the soldering iron.... Should be working and reassembled in an hour.

Solder is the best way! At work we solder the wires together then slide this heat shrink tube with a special glue inside that when heated-up it melts and oozes out of the edges. I'm glad you figured it out!! Didn't see the post till now.

Done and working fine - thanks all.
