Hi all,

Callsign Indy_Lx no longer applies, my new DD is a one-owner (uhh 2, now). I bought 'er in October from a local engineer who fairly meticulously ("fairly" only due to our, that is, iH8mud members, higher standards) maintained her, kept her clean and garaged. She had 159,001 miles on the clock at the time. Timing belt done, water pump and all fluids done at the dealership at 124,xxx.

She runs like a top. I've removed the factory roof rack, installed a Thule for the bike, added a sunroof deflector, performed the fog light mod, installed FJ wheels and P265/70r17 Wrangler AT/S's. Aside from climbing the dirt hills on the local construction sites, this one won't see much offroad action.

Future plans include all preventative maintenance, an ARB front bumper (when I hit the lotto), maybe the ISR mod, elbow removal and/or deckplate. If I get ambitious, I'd really like to Black Pearlize the emblems (the "Poor man's" version - hey I've four kids).

I appreciate all the work that goes into the contributions on this forum. It is a priceless wealth of critical (and some not so) info.

This is my third 4Runner - 2d 3rd gen Limited and I had a '94 SR5.

Humbly submitted,
Indy_LX

Nice clean truck! I love the paint color.

Thanks Mars and Tepui,

I love the paint color too. It does look very clean although I sometimes wish it looked a bit less clean - maybe some window tint would accomplish that for me. Someday the ARB front bumper will definitely do the trick, eh?

Since it's the Limited, the fog lights are stock. To have them work w/o the headlights, I performed the oh-so-simple and highly recommended fog light mod.

I've been contemplating removing the running boards, but I actually use them when I wash the car and when I hoist the bike up top. Oh yeah, and my small kids need 'em, too. It would look good though.

Cheers!

Very nice ride!

I think the window tint on the front might just do the trick for you. I also like the emblem idea. Should be pretty easy, just make sure you don't go cheap when you reattach them.

Sexy clean! Still my fav Runner body style. She will bring you many years of fun and reliability! Great find!

Thanks, guys. My wife was driving my 4Runner the other day and passed me on the highway. I thought, "Damn, that's a nice lookin' beast". (the car, not the wife) :)

I used to name all my cars, I think this one is reaching name status. Hmmmm. Not sure what, yet, I'll let you know. I'll search for a car name thread, I'll bet there is one.

Cheers!

Nice rig Indy! Very good condition as well. My 96 is the same paint color. There are so many possibilities for mods for the 3rd gen 4Runners. After I got bigger tires and suspension lift it looked like a totally different beast! :D

ISR and Deckplate mods are cheap and easy as hell, i spent less than $15 for both.

let me know if you need some help on doing them, i just did them last month.

Nice looking 3rd gen. I love mine. It really is the ideal vehicle for me. I really like the FJcruiser wheels. I put a set on mine. Plus they are pretty cheap!

I tried the new, five spoke 4Runner/Taco rims but the backspacing was a little shy so they didn't look that great. And I'm not comfortable with wheel spacers. So I got an incredible deal on 5, FJC wheels. I really like them too. I think I'm getting some AVS window guards and front window tint for my birthday, I'll post up some new pics then.
Thanks for your comments.
