I've been spending some time researching a re-gear for my 08 6MT. The stock 3.91 gears have been ok, but the truck really struggles in the mountains when fully loaded and my fj is pretty heavy with front and rear bumpers. I'm not planning on going bigger than 33" tires, so going with 4.56s seems like it might be too low. While researching I saw that Nitro offers a 4.30 ratio for the FJ and I was curious if anyone was running that? In my research I could only find people running 4.56s or 4.88s once they switched to 34" or 35" tires. I used this calculator to compare 4.30s (Left) with 4.56s (Right) with 285/70/R17 tires and got the following numbers.

Would going with 4.30s be a good idea?

If you are only going up "2 tire sizes" (265-->275-->285), seems like the 4.30 gear package would be a reasonable option. What do the numbers on the left look like compared to completely stock options now? I'd be interested to see how similar the final drive ratios look.
