Why are the d-rings mounted to the spring brackets instead of the frame?

I think I might've used the Quik-Fist mini's...but good resourceful cure!..

was done as a temporary measure...
so that I could roll the M100 on a trail and not be totally inept

off road trailer wheeling, M100 and Tacoma - YouTube

the M100 frame's rear most cross member is not strong enough
to withstand any type of pulling on that, without first reinforcing that.

due to time constraints of the moment... these were better then nothing.
and since they work...
I've put off the frame reinforcement mods for the time being..

might have done something like that...
but figured it would've cost me more money...

I purchased 6 of these spring loaded tie downs at an
"going out of business sale"
all 6 cost me $ 6. and some chump change.

sooo... when the rocks eat this first set up... I got back up ;)

I'll likely paint 'em black so they look mo' :grinpimp:

eventually these recovery points will be scraped once I get around to reinforcing the M100's rear cross member.

Or leave 'em as an alternate point in case you need to pull the trailer from the side or something. :meh:
