I have an ARB Summit bumper which appears to be matte black...
- Powder coated rims also appear matte black
- Powder coated white knuckle sliders which look like the wheels and the bumper ;)

I want to find a rattle can paint which approximates this finish. I found "Flat black" but none of these look flat to me.

Suggestions / experiences? --- I can't powder coat the pieces in question as they are plastic.

Don't know if this is one you have tried, but excellent quality and definitely flat versus the semi. and gloss finishes:

Make sure to get High Performance Enamel versus other Rustoleum offerings.

I use the stuff available from Front Runner - it matches all of my powder coatings perfectly.

You may also want to try John Deere Blitz Black. It has been widely used by MUD guys for a long time. It is highly regarded for durability and can be had in spray cans. You are correct on the ARB color being satin black. It is about a 40-50% gloss ( I do powder coating for my real living). The beauty is that if you get within 10-15% of the same gloss it really will look the same. Flat black is a definite no go.

Also, treat touching up powder coat as you would paint. Doesn't "blend" unfortunately. Paint back to defined lines or breaks or use a brush on scratches. Red scotch brite to scuff up big areas for adhesion.

To be clear - I am not painting the ARB bumper or anything else that is currently powder coated.

I need to be close but doesn't need to be an exact match.

Unfortunately it appears that I can't easily source the John Deere paint... "JDBB is Not for Sale In California, it does not comply with CARB VOC limits"
