Random Engine Stall... any idea whats up?

I have a 1999 Hundy with about 130k on it. In excellent shape, no recent issues. Almost 3 years ago, the throttle assembly was replaced, and a year ago the starter was rebuilt... other than that, it's been great. This morning after starting it and driving about 1/2 mile it died on me. I rolled to the side of the road, started it back up, and it's been running perfect ever since. No CEL, just died, but started right back up. I'm thinking maybe fuel filter?... fuel pump? (not sure if faulty fuel pump will trip CEL or not?)...

Thoughts?

Run some cleaner like BG 44k thorough it and clean the throttle body. That could be gunk or bad gas or something else, either way start cheapest and work your way up from there. As an FYI, I like to change my oil after I run cleaner through the engine to get rid of all the contaminants.

I have a 99 with 225K. I was getting rough idling and check engine lights( I cant recall the code right now, Ill look for it in a sec). The toyota house quoted 1400ish to my wife to "replace the throttle body". I cleaned the throttle body with some generic cleaner from napa and ran some lucas through it and it's made a world of difference. It's a 10-15 min affair.

My 2001 100 series with 144k miles had its first ever on the road failure today. As I would let off the gas coming up to stop lights, the A/C fan would blow softer, then when completely stopped at the light it would blow at different speeds, as though the blower was struggling.

Then while stopped at one light, the truck stalled. It started back up and made the remaining 100 yards to the office just fine.

Does this sound like a throttle body issue?

Nope, sounds like a good 'ol fashioned electrical problem. Alt/Batt/Cables best guess.

Sounds like the alternator/voltage regulator is going bad.

No, the AC, stereo and everything on the dash cut off. On the drive back home, everything worked fine.

I'm getting the alternator checked today.

How old is your battery? Is it the original?

Are both the positive and negative battery terminals clean, and really tight on the battery posts?

No, its not the original battery. I have replaced the battery twice since buying the truck 5 years ago.

Thanks for the suggestion on cleaning the battery connections, I cleaned them up, and the connections are now clean and tight. This may have been the issue, it seems like the truck is starting up quicker now, but it may just be a placebo effect. If there are any further developments I will be sure to post follow-ups here.

Check your air intake. I had stalling and rough idle with no codes and I thought I might have had a bad injector.

Seems one of the fittings on my air intake came loose.
