Santa brought the needed parts for the ram mount install and today seemed like the day to get it done.

Parts used

-Two #10 bolts with a Phillips head
-Two washers
-Two # 10 hex nuts
-Phillips screw driver
-Drill with several sized bits to drill a pilot hole and step up to avoid cracking plastic
-link on how to disassemble the dash
-Beer of choice

All together it was pretty straight forward. I included some pics so folks can see the room I had to work with. It feels very stable and I’m confident it will hold up just the same as it has in my 4 runner.

Nicely done.

Brave! I wouldn't have guts to drill holes. That is why I have bought proclips. Since you are using vent, how stable is it with weight attached? Any flexing in the vent?

I have the iPhone 11 pro max and my wife the 11 pro. Preliminarily, it appears just fine as I'm using a shorter ram mount arm. I haven't taken it off road or anything yet but I can say w/ confidence there's no bending of the vent as the plastic is fairly sturdy.

I like the approach you took. If you want to cover holes all you need is to replace the vent piece. Well done

That looks great and functional. Wondering how it would work if you drilled the holes on the bottom of the vent piece ?
I think nylon lock nuts would work good too.

Turned out nice. You also know how to celebrate victory well with a New Glarus. Don't see those much around here! (We did all of the great lakes last summer is the only reason I know what that is LOL!)
