Has anyone mounted one of these ? Looks like a good way to mount something. I wonder if I can still use my Blend-mount radar detector mount?

This is just a U bolt ball rear view mirror mount . RAM® U-Bolt Ball Base for Rear View Mirrors

I've used one that looks a whole lot like that on motorcycle handlebars. It worked great.

I used a similar RAM mount set up for my gps. I found it somewhat distracting. Always in my line of sight. Personal preference for me is to have the gps down low.

Seems like this could be an interesting option for a dashcam mount or Radar but I wouldn't want a display up that high. I dim my dash down to barely visible levels and shut off any displays when driving at night as I don't like anything bright right in my face crushing my night vision.

In Minnesota it'd be illegal. Anything between the driver and the windshield, other than sun visors and rear vision mirrors, will earn you a citation.
