The sensor fell off the windshield of our 03 lx. I bought the tape from the dealership, but the unit still isn't sticking because there appears to be some epoxy of some sort that has broken loose. Can anyone tell me what kind of glue to use?

I may try some rear view mirror glue.

I don't remember specifically on the 100s but I know for sure the other Lexus models w/ the rain sensor, the "tape" is actually not holding the sensor on. Its just for the sensor to have good contact with the glass. Theres a metal bracket that is glued to the windshield and a plastic clip that slides up in the sensor which locks on to the metal bracket. Try not to contaminate the "tape".

I have tried to glue it back with rearview mirror glue without success. Can I just unplug the wires and take the whole box off? We don't use the sensing wipers.

Yes you can, and by doing so you will regain typical intermittent wiper function that you didn't have with the rain sensor installed. I disconnected mine intentionally because I prefer having personal control over my wipers.

I'm having this same problem. Rain sensor just fell off the other day. I'd like to reinstall it. Has anyone found a good solution yet?

You have to have a special windshield for the rain sensor to work right? PO removed mine so when I got a new windshield I had the standard (non rain sensor) windshield put in, but now my DD Golf wagon has it and I miss having rain sensing in my LX
