So after installing my Super Charger on my 02 LX470 I notice that when I listen to the radio I hear a blip every other minute (the first day was ever 10 seconds). What could cause that? It's like the radio turns off momentarily. Is it because it's not getting enough power? We checked the voltage in the car looks good.

I'll go with my standard answer for electrical problems: did you check that all the ground connects are good?

Does it only happen when you're listening to the radio? Or also when you listen to CD's, etc? I had something similar happen only when I was listening to FM radio. Turned out to be some auto tuning feature causing it. Once disabled, everything's fine again. 2002 LC100 with factory nav, which should be same as your setup.

ilhommec: That is probably it. I imagine the battery was disconnected and now that feature is activated. How do you turn it off?

I think it's as simple as pressing the AF button while on the audio screen. It is extremely easy, but I don't really know why the blip happens in the first place. Happy it's an easy fix though.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. Any other ideas?

My mechanic believes it is a defective radio but I don't think it is?

I have added a video online of the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg1zcRYUcEU&feature=youtu.be
Go to 28 second and hear how it drops out. This repeats every 30 seconds or so. My mechanic claims that it gets better when its not cold. It still happens but not as often.

My mechanics are confused and believe the problem is a faulty radio but I don't think it is. We did install those HID headlights but I don't think it should interfere with anything.

Any help is really appreciated!

No luck in figuring this out yet. I have an 18 hour road trip next week and will go crazy with the blips

I never saw a response to an earlier question. Does it do this while playing a CD?

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

Thanks, I just checked. The DVD player is jammed and won't open no matter what we try to do. Maybe this is related to the issue I am facing?
