Just had a pressure test done on my cooling system and It looks like have a bad radiator.

Any suggestions of what else I should do while its out?

I should be picking one up on Monday, so I'm thinking next Saturday will be the day I'm doing the work.

If anyone wants to lend a hand or just point and laugh I will provide food and beer.

Sounds like a real party. I'll see if I can help out. If I don't get some time in on the wifes car, Im gonna be in the doghouse.

take a water hose and make sure to clean out area between radiator and A/C condensor...

I would replace teh top and bottom radiator hose if they are fairly old, and might consider the thermostat as well, since you have to drain the coolant anyway.

...and don't forget, the 1FZ-FE has three radiator hoses to purchase, there's two on the bottom.

clean up the aux fan wiring.

I can't clean that up...... its a fine balance.... if I did it might short or start a fire.. I do have 10' of service loop incase I need to move the switch to the back of the truck.

Progress?

Give us an update on your sick baby. You got all that service done on the radiator and oil pump seal yet?

Yep it’s all done…. I decided on having a shop do the work for me so I could spend my free time other things that I want to get done..

That was quick

I hope they did you right at C.B.'s. I would hate to think I recomended them and you had a bad experience.

FYI
Looks like final fitting on the sliders is gonna be friday night.

Cool... I might have to swing by and make sure Matt does it right..

Well my rear is a little sore this morning.
The final price was a bit higher than quoted partly because I had them do the hoses as well so on top of labor for the radiator they charged me 58$ in labor for the hoses (how much longer does it take to replace the hoses?) Also they tried to mix long life with my “green” they told me it was fine and that they did it all the time.. I have heard differently so I insisted that they use just the plain green I think that kind of pissed them off. They do good work though and there shop rate is a lot less than Franklin….
The important thing is that it’s done now and I didn’t have to mess with it… I will spend my time installing my air compressor and lining the wheel wells.

That sucks about the coolant, I would probably do a flush to make sure there is no mix to gunk up the new radiator. If there are 3 hoses like the 3fe then they are a major PITA. I only installed two of the three because I couldn't get to the top bottom hose without removing the PS pump, even with the radiator out. I will change the other one out along with the last of my other hoses when I do the water pump this spring.

Yeah I already had it in my mind to do a flush... I jsut don't know if I want to go red or stay with the green. They did put in the green (so they say) they actually charged me more for it.
