I just replaced the radiator in my 60. I was wondering if I am to fill the block throught the thermostat housing? I have never done this before and I am a little concerned on how to get the antifreeze back in there. Also the radiator cap on the old radiator was bigger that the new opening. It is now about an inch and three quarter of an inch. I bought the radiator from Performance. They seemed to get a good write up from you guys. I ordered a new cap from Toyota, but I have no idea what sixe that one will be. Thanks

what year is your tuck? that would explain the cap size which is no big deal. the filler neck is small and a pain to fill. i have filled the block via the thermostat before and have filled the radiator by using the upper hose turned on a 90.

Fill with fluid

Turn heater front and rear heater on.

Run engine until thermostat opens.

Add fluid

Or you could park on a steep hill with the front of the rig pointing uphill and add fluid. It is a PITA because the unique way the fil neck it.

It is a 85. How much fluid is this rig going to take? I asume that while I am burping this system I do it with rad cap off. Is this correct? Again I have never done this before and am a little confused. Thanks for the help.
