Mine has deteriorated to the point that I just pulled it out while changing my oil. Do I need to replace or forget about it. ‘10 with 150k miles. Thanks!

Depends.

If you tow or do any really heavy driving, I would encourage you to put one back. It's there to guide and maximize airflow through the radiator to maximize cooling efficiency. Vice around the radiator.

Foam tape can be easily sourced at your local hardware store or amazon.

Replace it for sure, it's easy. The cooler it runs the better off you'll be.

Is that the original radiator? No crack yet?

Note that a lot of hardware store foam tape will have trouble with the temperatures produced by the upper rad tank. Even if the foam survives the adhesive will likely be a battle.

The OE part number is 16465-50370 and very cheap.

I'd recommend loosening the top radiator mount bolts in the core support to slightly tilt it back and get the area cleaned well, and make room to install it straight.

Thanks for response and the part number. I tow a lot so I’ll replace it. Radiator was replaced about 5 years ago when I hit a deer so hopefully I’ll get some more life out of it!

Hi,
jumping on this thread.
Did you replaced the foam?
what was the process of titlint the radiator and replacing it?
many thx.

It’s been a while but I remember removing the tape residue with alcohol and then installing the new foam tape. I don’t own that vehicle any longer so no clue how it held up!
