I am looking for one of those J**P racks to put on the back of my 40, ya know the one's for ice chest and cans, etc... i have searched high and low, no luck. i did find one however it was like $1500. :crybaby:
not gonna happen, does anyone know who sells these or do i need to pretty much have one fabed up ?

any advice ?

thanks in advance ...

happy ho ho all ..

Several out there. MAny require you to have to buy some type of rear bumper.
Spector has one made by Wilderness. My personal opionion is it does not swing well when loaded (saw it at an off road show)

Man-A-Fre has a nice set up made by their Fab guy. Seen it in person and it is well made

I have one made by Decker's, www.deckersonline.com . Very well made

Kurt at Cruiser outfitters made up a nice one as well for his truck

Do a search her on mud and you'll find more. Also check out the bumper section on the home page here at mud for other ideas.
Here is a picture of mine.

Are you asking about the kind in the pic above, or just a cooler rack that can mount to the factory roll bar over the bed area?

That may be a good alternative to the high dollar products.

However, that said, the 4+ bumper/swing outs from MAF are super high quality, and in my opinion worth every cent.

Those look nice. I just called $875 + ~$150 for shipping to Reno.

I have one that bolted to the tub. Used it for years.. But, it stops you from using the rear doors..

Find yourself a good used tube style spare tire carrier and all the latches, etc. Cut off the tire carrier, fab up a basket that holds a cooler or 3 jerry cans, hi-lift mounts, license plate, rear flood light, etc.

Good luck

I believe that is what Kurt did on his. You might contact him and see if he can set you up. www.cruiseroutfitters.com THe custom FJ40 swing aways cost way more than the jxxp ones as their aren't as many FJ40's on the road as Jxxp's. So you pay more for limited production (not mass produced) stuff. Now with that said you can try some local fab shops or do a search here on mud, several members have come up with simple and unique solutions.

I like mine as well and would buy another. It is very well made and I have pounded mine through the Rubicon countless times. It is one of the few things going from my old 40 to my "new" 40.

Yeah, I don't own one, I built my own, but after the fab work cleared, I can see that the 4+ stuff is worth the cost they are asking.

you have any pic's of this style ? cooler rack, even though those other ones from maf are worth the $$$$ it seems like alot of cash. like a grand ?
i think i would rather spend that kind of cash on other things first, like arb, longfields etc .. i'm looking for something reasonable that won't hurt my wallet too much. ;)

thanks for all the advice ..

I think that you should look at building or buying something similar to this.

Very easy to fab, or look in the heep market they have some options there for this kind of rack.

FWIW, I found a few ATV racks at a Junk yard that would be perfect for this kind of application.

WHAT ARE THE MEASUREMENTS OF THAT RACK REZARF ...

It isn't my design, however, just look at the rack relative to the factory roll bar and I bet you get within an inch or two.

after a lot of research and looking around, and since i do not own a welder :crybaby: . i have decided to get the reciever rack that cabela's offers.

Item:IH-521480

or

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/purchase/products-found.jsp?_requestid=94190

i think with a little cutting and fab this will also work on top of the roll bar, and only $119. so if i mess it up i am not out alot of $$$$$

what do you all think ?

Cheers ...
80% of cabillas stuff is made in china.but these days hell what is not.i work there they dont seem bad:D
