Dom, The only difference is that the early style doors are flat on the outside and don't require a clearancing on the back side. The later doors require it due to the recess where the hinge bolts to the door.

I'm waiting on a machining fixture so the hinges work on both styles of doors without any issues to the customer. I used to do the clearancing in a vise-piece by piece with a grinder. Soon they will be done in quantity in a mill.

Dom, I think yours were the last set I hand built at home, so they would be able to work with early or late doors. Did you ever mount them to your 40?

Well I can now stop asking you guys about your doors! The hinges are ready to order-about 5-6 sets per week currently.

Got mine this week - thank you! Might be a while before these go on (need to wrap up the driveline before I start on body work) but I'll be sure to post back when they're installed.

That said, they're pretty beefy - very happy with the build quality!
