Dom, The only difference is that the early style doors are flat on the outside and don't require a clearancing on the back side. The later doors require it due to the recess where the hinge bolts to the door.
I'm waiting on a machining fixture so the hinges work on both styles of doors without any issues to the customer. I used to do the clearancing in a vise-piece by piece with a grinder. Soon they will be done in quantity in a mill.
