quick install Q on Odyssey PC 1700

Got my new Odyssey this week. I've got my one inch plywood spacer in the tray and the battery sitting in place.

I have a question about the caps: I can see how the positive and negative caps screw into the battery. But what are the bolts/washers for? Do those then screw into the caps? What is their function?

Seems like that's what I'm supposed to do, just checking though before I do that.

Also, it recommends that torque the cap screws to 5.3-6.0Nm (47-53in/lbs). Not sure how reliable my torque wrench is. Who imortant is that step?

The post is a combination SAE post and threaded nut. You don't need the washer and torque wrench since the OEM Toyota post are SAE clamp style post. The threaded part are useful for winch install or stereo amplifier but not needed for stock install.
