Quick dads and kids weekend San Rafael run.

Dashed down to the Sids Mountain area of the San Rafael Swell this weekend. Me a couple buddies, and 4 toddlers (we were totally outnumbered).

Tried to head up and over Fix-It pass, but my buddy's stock Trooper got stopped at the first real obstacle below the pass. I got to use my winch for its first official rescue (of sorts) to pull him off the rock he was high centered on.
Regardless, had a great time cruising down open washes, crawling along narrow ATV tracks, and playing in the sand.

60s and 70s in the daytime.
Cold at night, but not too cold to hunker down into a sleeping bag.

Man, kids love sand.

Wow, that looks like a lot of fun. You are brave men. That being said, my husband would and does to the same thing quite often--three kids and one dad.
















He would be very mad at me if I loaded up the kids and went wheeling/camping without him.
