Hey,
More questions relating to my -92 LJ73.
As far as I understand these didn't come with ABS from the factory. And I can't see anything on my dash to indicate that it has it either. That said, I'm not sure what I should look for in the engine bay to make sure I definitely don't have it installed.

That aside, since I'm using this car as a daily and commute with it. I want to put some winter wheels on it of course. Currently looking for some second hand and debating whether or not to go with friction or studded tires. But ABS is also good for safety on winter roads, and conditions vary quite a lot in southern finland. You can encounter black ice, loose snow and slush in the same day if you're really lucky. Do people usually install ABS on old 70-series cars or nah?

My LJ73 has the 2L-T, so there's not a massive amount of power for a ~2.5-ton car. Would it be a good idea to look at installing ABS and what does that process look like? I've worked on brakes before, but mostly repairing broken lines, bleeding them, swapping brake cylinders and brake pads etc. Never messed with brake boosters or ABS before.

The LJ would not have had ABS from the factory. Installing it would be a massive undertaking, and not worth the effort IMO. I have found that my LJ78 performs quite well in the varied winter conditions we get here in western Montana; a shorter wheelbase would make it a little more tricky but probably not much. I just have to keep in mind that my stopping distance will be greater than most cars on the road, so I drive accordingly. I would recommend getting a set of studded tires with a narrow section width. I keep my hubs locked all winter, and engage 4wd on the fly as conditions require.
