Just got the deluxe winch bar installed on the 100. This is the version that has the full barwork "cage" but has the option of foglamps like the Sahara bars. No pics of my truck yet, but here is the bar from ARB's site (first bar at the top, on the gold Cruiser):

Anyway, my question is for those who have the optional foglamp kit (mostly Sahara bar owners, probably). I was looking at these and could not discern any pattern on the reflector or etched in the lens. How do these actually perform as fogs? I ask because I know fogs should have a definite cutoff point somwhere below the main headlamps to prevent reflected light off the fog wall from glaring back at you. Yet I don't see how that kind of light pattern is possible with these lamps. It's a nice design and mounting system, and of course looks super cool and integrated into the bumper, but do these lights perform as expected of FOG lamps?

TIA,

I found them darn near worthless, maybe a bit better then the stock fogs. I have disconected mine and run a set of JDM fogs with yellow all waether bulbs.....much better.

Good to know, I was considering the Sahara bar because I can't find anyone with a TJM T3 Classique available. What's the point of spending an extra $250 for lights that are worthless. On the TJM, I can use the factory fogs. I guess I'll just wait it out for some more T3's to come to the States.

if anyone has the block off plate for the IPF fogs I would like them, i want to take the fogs out of the bar, one has a crack anyway.

Derek,

I have to agree with Landpimp, I had them on my ARB Sahara bumper (4Runner) and the projection was not good. I tried adjusting the angle of the fogs but never got it to light up properly for a fog light. I'm not sure if it was just the fog lights or position of them. At some point, I wanted to try and replace them with some alternative, but I never got around to do the swap. I do agree that they look great but not much of a performer. The factory fogs were definetly much better in terms of light output and proper alignment. Back then, the fog light kit was part of the bumper purchase and now see it's an option.
So I'm now dying to see some high resolution pics of your 04 LC with the Deluxe bar! How about some more details on the install, pricing and who did you order it from?

I am gonna try to swap a set of OEM fj40 fogs into the IPF holes, they might not work better......but they are damn cool lookin ;)

Got any pics of the FJ40 fogs? I would think that any one of the PIAA fogs would be an good alternative, you would just have to look at the mouting solution and the diameter of the replacement fog light.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Now you're all making me wish I had saved the $240, but it's just such a KEWL system! Well, I'll hook `em up soon and see for myself. Can't do it tonight as they're spraying for mosquitos outside as I speak. Sacramento County is a "high risk" area for West Nile Virus because of all the waterways.

Anyway, if they're better than OEM I'll be happy, as that should be an easy benchmark to hit...

I'll get pics as soon as I have it all together. I will say that this is no easy bolt-on like the 80 Series bumpers. You gotta cut, drill, measure, drill some more... what a pain. But on the flip side it is definately a MUCH better engineered bumper than the 80. I guess it would have to be to meet airbag deployment standards. Lots of cool featuress, too, such as reinforced Hi-Lift jacking points right in the face of the bumper.
