My friend is selling an 84 FJ60 with a GM 350 rebuilt. The car has very little rust and new tires. Plus all of the windows are crackless. Would it be worth $3.5k if it runs good? I am not sure about FJ60's after the engine swap, does it increase the price or decrease the value of the car?

thanks.

Not sure about values, but my experience is that the general market prefers stock rigs. So if you are not necessarily concerned about the modifications, then the value is for you to dertermine.
I'd recommend looking closely at the conversion and the quality of the installation. More than the conversion, the workmanship and attention to detail would in my opinion determine the value of the rig.

That's a pretty good price if it runs and drives good. Also you will want to make sure if it is in a smog controlled area that it is set up to pass.

yeah it runs and drives excellent. The conversion was done professionally so Im not worried. Im pretty confident the new engine will last a while because there is only 20k on it as well.

Sounds like the engine will be fine, so the next thing to consider is the rust. Do a search and you'll find lots of tips about where it hides, how much is too much, and what can be done to minimize it. Living where you do that could be the real deal-breaker.

Good luck!

There is only a little bit below the rear wheel well. Besides that it is pretty rust free.

Yes, Im thinking about purchasing it for 3.5k but not sure about it yet. Like I said it was an 350 engine swap and minimal rust.
