I know there's at least 2 of you...

Did your trucks come with the "safety feature" of not being able to start without pushing down the clutch pedal? Mine's like that and it's gotta go - if you bypassed this feature, how'd you do it?
 
it would normally depend on the year
I'm pretty sure you don't need it to be DOT legal on a 74
ditch it!
 
simple, look at the clutch pedals. see the switch. Cut the wires. Join them together. If it works great. If it doesn't work seperate them and it will work. The system either needs a closed circuit or an open one to work. Basic.

Personally I would rather have it working. A few times my wife has jumped forward forgetting to put in the clutch when I left it in gear.
