I have a HFS 4" lift and I noticed today that I have 8 leafs in the rear pack and 7 in the front. Is this right? All the weight is in the front.

Yes, that is how I have mine. You should have a leveling plate on the right rear leaf.

I took the plate off.

7 in the front 8 in rear for sure on BBQBOYS....Mine are wrong front/rear and when looking at his noticed the same thing.......Mine are stock however - so regardless of stock or aftermarket should the lesser amount of leaves be in the rear or front?

Weren't your springs labeled as to Front/Rear? Every HFS spring pack I've seen had 40F or 40R stenciled on the top leaf.

IIRC, my Dobinson and OME springs have one more leaf in front than in the rear. No experience with HFS.

Why don't you call CCOT and get it from the horses mouth?

I have learned that what comes out of that horses mouth aint right. Anyway after Nevinsj mentioned the plate I instantly remembered that I took that out and it was in the rear so I know I now for certain the springs are in the proper location.

Springs from different manufacturers are... different... OEM '40 suspension has one more up front than in the rear. We commonly swap them to counteract rear end sag. Some aftermarket springs are completely different designs front to rear.
and the number of leafs vary widely. there is no "rule".

Mark...

Thanks for verifying oem Mark - I think it was 73fj40lc on here that told me mine were swapped from front to rear - When we looked at BBQBOYS It stuck out because I had recently decided to swap mine back around...

Glad yours are right BBQBOY -

Yes, they are labeled in yellow stencil, HFS40FX for front and HFS40RX for the rear.

This is what we counted on his - Glad to find out leaf # isnt a rule but more of a design....
