Question 1962 seat belts????

it would've been an option then, since seatbelts weren't required until 67 or so. the bracing was there for it (hence the evil rust spots on the rear fenders). annie just had plugs in the screw holes where the belts would've been

Did a web search and it showed 68 as the year seat belts were required by the Feds. It also said on all seats which I know didn't happen. No seats on long jump seats and only two seats belts in the front. Center seat did not get a seat belt. The search also showed the state of Wisconsin require seat belts for the two outboard seats in the front starting in 1961. This how the Land Cruiser came for many years. As the 68 and all seats the only thing I came think of is that was for passenger cars. Trucks and utility vehicles may have been later. I believe around 92 all cars were required to have a air bag up front. Again trucks and utility vehicle were later.
