looking for a GOOD electric, inline fuel pump to transfer the fuel from my long ranger tank to the stock tank.

currently working on my third napa/carter solenoid P61295, which it appears they don't even carry anymore.

they just wear out, stop pumping after about 1.5 years and they are like 60 bones a pop.

any ideas here?

walbro fuel pumps...

Walbro pumps are the same as Jeg's house brand stuff which can be had a little cheaper, however for a transfer pump it's a much higher pressure unit than needed (good for fuel injected applications). Aeromotive pumps are great but also overkill, I'd recommend switching to an in tank unit since I bet it's heat that's taking the pumps out.

no clue which "in-tank" pump I could put in a long ranger tank or how it would work mounted on it's side.

I will stick with in-line.

Make a sump, weld it in and mount the pump in the sump similar to Aeromotive's stealth line. Lot of racers do it to dampen noise and improve pump life. :meh:

JEGS Inline Fuel Pumps - JEGS there's the inline pump though if you want it

watch what you buy some of those pumps are noisy as hell.

I wil ask Lurch what he bought for his junk.

Skillet what psi do you require?

noise is not an issue, really...

the thing is mounted under the rear of the vehicle outside and is usually running while I drive.

there is no designated PSI, it is just a transfer pump. takes the fuel from the big 'long ranger' and dumps it into the stock tank via the vent.

speed is really not an issue either, as long as it gets the job done.

I just want it to last.

thanks for the input.

gotcha..........I rod with lurch in his 40 to cmcc last year and that "Summit" pump was so damn noisey it viberated the floor board till my foot was numb:lol:

Skill, check e-bay for marine fuel pumps. i got a trail spare in case my mechanical dies. It is made for an older marine mercruiser v8 and is made by Volvo IIRC. Very well made and pumps at 8 psi so it does not overfill the carb, not an issue but could come in handy. Cheap on e-bay and made for vibration environment and it is in line mount with harness, very convenient.

I'd look at a pump for an 80's carbureted Subaru... Kyosan Denki or Bosch. The Kyosan should be well under $100, the Bosch can be pricey, upper $100 range. Both come with brackets for rubber isolation grommets.
