I don't see a way, has anyone accomplished this? or does everyone just replace the insulator and the bottom boot?

Old thread, but in case anyone else looks for an answer, here is what worked for me. The part of the spring that goes into the coil is a larger diameter to retain it, so it doesn't just push down into the coil. I was able to grab the top of the springs with needle nose pliers and twist them counter clockwise while I pushed them in. This twists the coils so they reduce their diameter, and they pop right in. If you have a helicoil driver, that might work even better, since that's actually what inspired me to try this method.

Found this via Google, and it worked for me. Thank you. Seems so obvious that I feel like a moron. I mean, there's the bit of wire bisecting the proper end of the spring for the needle nose pliers to hold on to. 🥴😵
