If there's an upside to this, it's that I have more time to work on training that big brute in my avatar. She's coming along really well and enjoying the attention. She rarely got to go for swims in the creek when she and Happy shared the back yard, because the two of them together were almost too much to handle. Now that it's just her, I get her out for runs and swims almost daily.
That has been my experience with the dogs I've lost: the remaining single dog & I learn even more about each other. It's kinda neat to watch their personality expand...
that said, my rescue girldog took a swipe at me a couple nights ago, so I'm feeling your dilemma. didn't break skin cuz her teeth are pretty worn down, but sheesh....
Illness aside, all one has to do is teach socialization - not kill the damn thing. Socialization is all it takes and they learn quickly. Sorry for the dog and cluelessness.![]()
