Houston is in paralyzed mode now. So my friend ask if I have a kayak this morning telling me his mom and grandma were stucked in their home. So I brought my inflatable Kayak, life jackets and venture out in my 570. He has a lifted F250 higher than my 570. I waited for him by the road entrance for quite a bit thinking he will do better than me. Well after 20 minutes I decided to go in and get them out before water gets too high. Put in high mode and "float" in. The sheriff in a F250 honk me when I turn in in front of him in a Lexus, he probably think I crazy! Lol

Sure enough the cruiser chugging along just fine and get out in one piece! Then found out he pulled in to a church in higher ground trying to find out what to do. And later met me in the main road for his mom and grandma. He went in to get his uncle and aunt after I told him he will make it just fine.

Was planning to take my 80 out, but it miss fired on me throwing CEL P0302, 2nd cylinder miss fire. Blame myself on that as I let the 80 sits for 10 months then started it up to fill up gas before the storms came. So 570 to the rescue. Upon inspection the 2nd spark plug wire is way out of spec measured at 30k ohm, after new replacement wire, the trusty 80 purr like a kitten again. How can you not love a landcruiser?!!

I was just thinking how the LX would fare in torrential flooding... Glad you are ok. Lots of prayers sent towards the people in Houston.

Good work. Reminds me of the monsoon season when I live in Karachi. Aside from the intake snorkel we used to make exhaust snorkels out of old pipes/hoses up to roof level so you could go in deep water and be able to let go of the gas and not suck in water and stall out.

Good efforts..... stay safe and dry man !

The LX is quite capable, at some spot the water were a few inches from the bottom of the door. But I will not push more than that.

Stay safe in Cypress. Have kept our new (to us) LX in the neighborhood since it's not even plated yet. Pretty terrible situation for the city and surrounding areas
