Hey guys,

Over the weekend, I purchased a 2004 Land Cruiser with 32,400 miles. I was looking over the service records and all the belts were replaced 3 years ago since the notes said they were dry rotting from lack of use. The vehicle also had a Reese tow hitch. I'm assuming this must have been some family's tow vehicle for a boat or trailer because it has low miles. Over all the car is pretty solid and I am impressed with the vehicle. I did overlook the antenna at purchase and saw that it fall over if it was raised all the way. It looks like it may have been bent by an automated carwash? It won't lower all the way down.

Overall I've been studying the owner's manual trying to learn as much as I can. I also have a 2007 FJ Cruiser and a 2004 Runner. The 4Runner I will be selling soon. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can from the forums.

Congratulations!! 32k - hasn't even been broken in yet. Have fun and enjoy the new ride.

'04 is a great year! That's probably the lowest miles for a 10 year old Land Cruiser anywhere. Any particular plans for it?

dang thats low mileage....was it hidden in an old widow's barn somewhere?

Thank you sir!

Damn- just 32k miles? How much were they asking for that gem?

My local CarMax dealership had it. They don't haggle at all which sucks, but I couldn't pass up this low mileage cruiser. I paid $25,186 after all the taxes, tags, and fees.

I'm looking to do the ARB front bumper with a winch. I'm not sure what winch yet. As for the rear bumper, I was looking at Kaymar, but I tried checking the Outback Proven website that sells it and it's down? I'm looking at an OME lift, Safari Snorkel, K9 roof-rack with an Eezi-Awn Series 3 roof top tent.

I have no idea. The Carfax said it was raised in Vero Beach, FL under one owner. Maybe the key to finding low mileage cruisers is to mine them from South Florida? lol

Great find! Good luck with it and welcome to the 100 series dark side.

Nice find, my 2004 LC (diesel) is just starting to loosen up after 104K so you have a few miles to go yet......

Nice score! I personally consider the useful life of the 100 to be around 300k miles, so if you drive 12k a year on average you'll be good to go until March 2036 ;)

Why do you say that 300k is the life span? Would that be 300k of hard beater non main't miles or 300k main't somewhat, or what about 300k that's been meticulously main't? Is 300k the life cycle of the frame? What if the 300k was achieved at 30-40k a year vs 15k per year.

I ask why you say this b/c in the high mileage thread, there are some very nice high mileage 100's that look like they will easily eclipse 300k and continue steaming along. Just curious how you would make this determination?

Like I said it's my personal "useful life" and my comment was more of a musing than anything. Strictly personal/anecdotal/allegorical/fill in the blank adjective. Lots and lots of research is out there for you to make up your own mind, but I would think after 300k miles it would be time to move on for me. Even you if you drove your truck 15k miles a year you're looking at basically 18 more years of service, so it seems completely hypothetical either way. The cost of fuel to drive that many miles seems more relevant here than anything, and consider what technology will look like in a couple decades when you hit 300k.

Welcome to Mud . . . er, the addiction.

Nice score on the vehicle! That's some low miles for sure.
