Thanks again to all.

Well, he is thinking he is better then he really is. He is once again becoming self mobile, so that means he thinks he can take off running..... kinda funny watching him try to run out to the back door through the kitchen and the dead leg causes a nice "drift" around the butcher block! He still can't figure out why he does that... haha.

Still he is spending the majority of his time inside, in the air conditioning, just chilling. He is i would guess at about 85% with his right rear leg and 100% with his tail, and maybe 20% with his left rear leg. So we do have progress. He is also getting to where he can move his "dead leg" just enough to land on the paw probably 50% of the time instead of jamming his toes into the ground :(

I will keep you all updated when he is back jumping into the cruiser.

Glad to hear it! If I might make a suggestion...buy him a pair (or a few pairs, he'll wear them out) of dog shoes.

We have a St. Bernard that all of a sudden started dragging his rear legs. He recoved, but it was slow and when he would walk, he'd drag so much that he'd wear holes in the top of his feet and would scrape off his nails until they bled. We put shoes on him and it helped do 2 things. 1) it protected his feet. 2) it made him aware of his rear legs. It was like when a dog gets something stuck on his feet and he lifts it higher to try to get it off. He did the same with the boots and I'll swear it helped him recover faster.

These are the ones that worked best for us. Ultra Paws® Rugged Dog Boots-Ultra Paws. Shop around, you can get them on sale sometimes for much cheaper.

good call on the shoes Heather. I have actually been thinking about it because he has worn a little sore on one of his toes from dragging it. I tried to put some neosporen on it and wrapped it up, but every time i'm not looking the wrapping gets ripped off :bang:

He's doing much better. He is walking pretty well. Still occasionally will drag his LR foot a little but for the most part he is picking it up and putting it down. Probably will go this weekend and look for some cheap doggy shoes at petsmart for that foot since it's time for him to start walking around outside a little more now.

He's still not the same ol' Thatch that would haul A$$ after a tennis ball or anything you could toss, but hopefully he will be there in the next month or so.

Good news, good news!! Keep us all in the loop.
