PTO Bumper...

Hey Guys,

I am picking up a 83 Bj60 tomorrow evening - All kinds of excited. I'll post some pics when I have it in my posession..

The truck has a factory PTO winch, and what the owner calls the "factory stock" bumper, which is just about the ugliest thing I've ever laid eyes on [still, I really like it...] The thing jutting up is a mirror that the PO mounted to check the winch spooling in while sitting in the Drivers seat. I've searched through and found very little on bumpers that will fit around a PTO. I know Marmaduke started with a PTO, but to my untrained eye it looks like he removed it when mounting the ARB bumper. Any other rigs out there?

If anyone knows of a bumper that fits around a PTO or perhaps have pictures of your own build that you'd like to share, they would be appreciated.

Don't think that is a factory bumper. The factory bumper for FJ60 OEM winch is the same bumper that comes on non-winch vechicles. The short "C" mounts that are riveted to the front frame rails are replaced with longer channels. I've also seen that the space between the apron and the bumper is filled in with a piece of sheet metal.

Yeah, ive seen those, I wonder if you can get matching patio furniture?

He was pretty adamant that its a stock bumper.... hmm

The factory winch bumper is actually much more substantial than the stock bumper. Nothing about that bumper is factory.

That is most definitely NOT a factory PTO bumper! Look closely at my avitar to see what a factory PTO bumper looks like on an '82 BJ60.

That is not a stock bumper. The stock PTO bumper is not that much stronger I have bent it a few times already once just driving into a snow bank!

The_Dude managed to fit the ARB over the PTO winch and really liked the setup. But got rid of the ARB because it didn't line up with his body lines after his body lift.

I don't think there is anyone else on here who has done a custom Bumper over a PTO.

I am going to see if I can get this used ARB bumper we have in the shop for a Dodge Dakota to fit tonight and we have 2 of them!. if not I have to do something to get rid of the patio out front!
