Well, I finally have my truck back after the rust repair saga.
They used a new OEM gasket on the front windshield, but I think they missed a step as it was leaking in the bottom corners when I washed/detailed it yesterday
The shop also seems to have broken the trim piece behind the rear slide windows - looks like a black vent
My question - I've seen reference to 'double gluing' the gasket inside and out and the FSM seems to show this as well. How can I tell if this was done? On the outside, I can pull up the edge of the trim/gasket and don't seem to see any sealer - am I looking in the right place?
I guess I'll take it back on Monday and tell them that the window install does not seem to be done to factory specs and is leaking (= rust again if this keeps up) and ask them to replace the trim (or give it to me at their cost - I happened to see their invoice from Toyota - mega discount - shows the profit margin of parts/service!) - make sense?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers, Hugh
