he is out of town right now doing somthing or other in a 100 series picking up a 203...

You guys don't understand the Mace way. You tear s*** apart, then leave it. Then you tear some more s*** apart so you have a excuse why all the other s*** isn't getting put back together.:D

:flipoff2:

So did ya at least pick up a 203 or did ya give up on the project to save for a 100 series?:flipoff2:

I got the 203, I just have to dissassemble it and redrill it for the ferd pattern.

I also just picked up a stock 96 Ferd F150 Radiator. Designed for a 302 and has the auto lines plumbed. As soon as I have the new front piece I'll get that mounted.

Okay here is the Chevy 203 and a special thanks to Dieselcruiserhead.
the 203 is perfect inside (better than the ferd one I already had)

The first pic is the whole dam 203. It is nots how much this thing weighs..

The second pic is with the gear reduction part unbolted, the unfortunate part is a rod that runs all the way to the other section of the case.
I left my 4.5" angle grinder with a cutting wheel at mom's house. I pulled out the sawzall and dulled the blade (that dam rod is HARD!@!!!!)
Finally I broke out the circular saw with a metal blade in it. All done in 30 seconds ;)

The last pic is the two main halves of the 203. The gear reduction part is still fawking heavy but much better than the whoe dam thing..

Once I got it apart it was time for the Tcase to take a bath..

It is funny, I am putting this thing in my 60, which won't get mear the abuse my 40 does but look at the input on the 203 Vs the input on the mini tcase that is in my 40..

And finally, the 302 that will be come the heart, and the C6/203 combo (this is the ford case that I will not be using) that will bolt to the Split tcase.

Happier Fawkers??

:flipoff2:

I really enjoy following someone elses build since mine has been so problematic...keep up the good work....

I cant wait til i get to bolt stuff together...im so sick of getting my crap ready for paint.

You do realize that this is anything but easy right???

The Ford 203 bolts up to the C6 without an adapter, but since the 203/split case adapter is designed to only use the chevy 203 I cannot just use the Ford 203 case. I have to remove the input from the Ford case and install it in the Chevy 203. Which then has to be redrilled to match the ford 6" circular pattern. PLUS, I have to bock off all of the Chevy bolt holes in the front of the chevy 203 so they don't leak 90 Wt into my Auto tranny......

I did decide to get one of these to make my life easier tho..

Edit: I said that and just figured out that this whole thing is not nearly as complex due to the fact that I am a serious hack and do not have the eye for detail that Waggoneer and Medusa do. So in that aspect, this build is a lot easier than some ;)

The only appendage that I am missing on the 302 is the AC compressor.

See, since I hate Ferd PS pumps I had to go out and get a 89 Van 302 Saginaw :D ps pump, which does not work with the stock 302 AC compressor that I already have. So I am off to go find the proper AC compressor at a junkyard (funny part is that the AC compressor on the van was a serious pita when I was pulling the Ps pump cause it was in the way, I should have just pulled it and taken it with me.......)
