hello i m new in this forum and i have some question to ask concern bout my LC hope someone can give some suggestion. Thanks. Ok i bought this land cruiser few weeks and it was an imported used car from japan (RECON) i m from malaysia. After few weeks i drove the rear suspension seems to be malfunction and then the indicator drop from N to LO. And then I jet the car up and i hear some hissing sound underneath my car and at the same time my car sank down. I did change the sphere as u all suggested but nothing changed i doubt that is because of the pump malfunction or because of the water that i found in the fluid i don know which morron put it in there. I hope that now someone can give me a method to solve this. Some mechanic suggest me to change all the equipment but do u think just because of filling the water there is nothing to be done? I hope this AHC thing can be solve in no time cause it has been 1 month and i have a headache sometimes i feel like want to change to non AHC but i concern bout comfort so i decide to fix it.... any suggestions anyone?

Hissing sound?
If the rear height sensor is malfunctioning, the height might suddenly change like that. (The sensor is easy to check if you can use a multimeter)
In which case i could it be normal operation of the actuators (valves opening for the hydraulic fluid). Or abnormal operation...

Otherwise, could be that the water has influenced the functioning of the actuators or shocks.
Do you know how far the water got?
Was the whole system cleaned out properly, including taking off the shocks for draining fluid?
And bleeding thoroughly, including at the accumulator?
Did you change all the 4 spheres?

my mechanic tells me that it could be the sensor malfunctional cause my front suspension seems to be normal just my rear suspension are not normal. I m not sure where the water goes. i change 2 sphere on the rear and the front i dont change any. then nothing works then my mechanic suggest me to change the sensor could u show me how is it look like?

Apparently a major source of problems with the AHC is technicians or owners adding windshield washer fluid to the AHC system. Maybe a good idea to tag the system with a warning flag if you have others do your routine services.

haie those people are morrons they gives me trouble. Anyway i manage to solve my problem i change the sensor as suggested but now my car cant jet to HI position and i found that while my car in N position it seems to be higher than i expected is it we need to do some tuning and i wonder how the sensor could break down? because of the water inside the fluid or cause of the rough ride???

After changing a sensor, you have to adjust it (or rather the arm of it) to the correct ride-height.

The height sensors seem to have a problem with keeping water and humidity out, and therefore oxidizing inside - on the connector-springs between the potentionmeter carbon-trace and the plug terminals.
The sensor is a simple device. You can often fix it with some contact spray and sandpaper. Also, some preventative maintenance would help.

What I found is that the o-ring sealing it is slightly too thin, and the lid held by 4 screws is too weak, bending slightly between the screws.
On my first failure I had my rear sensor changed on warranty, even though the toyota workshop didn't find any problems, even after bringing it in twice.
The second time, less than a year later, the new one failed, but I didn't bother to have it changed. Just cleaned it up and sealed it better.
