Not sure what exactly to call the problem. Basically in California (and some other states I'm sure) they have a rubber gasket around the normal gas pump nozzle. I think it sucks in the fumes, not positive.
Anyhow, apparently if this isn't properly seated or pressurized or something, the gas filler senses it and clicks off. Not sure about other 100 series, but when I insert the gas nozzle it only goes in about 3-4 inches. Something is either wrong with my gas filler hole or everyone in CA and other states is having this problem as well.
If I HOLD the rubber hose cover back on the filler nozzel, it works fine. The tension on this cover is a LOT so it's hard to do and not sure if it is because the filler nozel isn't making it far enough into the filler tube to casuse the rubber cover to be pushed back enough and allow gas to be pumped.
Any ideas, thoughts? Seems like nothing could be "wrong" with the filler tube, but then again who knows. Nothing looks wrong visually, just can't get the filler nozel in all the way. And yes, I've tried at SEVERAL gas stations.
