What year is it? Thanks!

It's a 1997. It's the last year the 80 Series was imported to the United Staes. It is a 40th Anniversary Limited Edition, which means:

The Antique Sage Pearl paint is unique to this year/40th package

The wheels have the "D" windows painted to match the bumpers (40th's and Collectors Editions Only)

It has Auto Climate Control: 40ths and Lexus LX450s only

It has 40th Anniversary Embroidered Floor Mats

It has 2-tone Leather

It has 40th badges on the aprons and the center console

The lockers make it extra-rare...not all 80s or 40th Anniversary 80s came with factory lockers.

To 40th Anniversary nerds this is the crown jewel of the 80 Series trucks.

To 40th Anniversary nerds (like me) this is the crown jewel of the 80 Series trucks. If it is within your budget, this is the truck to get IMHO!

Wow Garth, you make it sound so good. I really don't want to sell it now....

If I had it to do over, I'd have sold my '77 40 Series and kept the 40th...:meh:

Beautiful truck. No oil burning in this one?

Thanks....

I don't think there is a 3F-E or 1FZ-FE out there that doesn't burn oil.

It uses about 3 quarts between oil changes. I have a painted garage floor and there are no oil spots.

Also Garth, it was a special order. It came without the running boards from the factory.

Hobs,
A beautiful 40th. I tend to agree with the others that you will get the max on Ebay.

I'm in Prescott and would be happy to give you $10k + my 1995 FZJ all stock and 231k. If you're interested in that trade, shoot me an email: timesfeatures@gmail.com

Glad to know another AZ Cruiser addict...who's also attempting to balance love for family and love for Cruisers. I think you're doing the right thing to put your son first...painful as it is.

Wow. Thanks for the offer. I will consider it carefully.

I using 3 quarts of oil between oil changes normal?

That seems like a lot given the low miles. I have a LX450 that has almost 200K and uses less than a quart every 3k.

Beautiful rig, I hope you break the bank with it. Agree with the others that Ebay will be the place to unload it at a premium. I know you 40th guys are a little quirky about these "rare" rigs but when you can get any other color for half the money I find it fascinating that paint color and fender badging makes grown men drop their panties............and their wallets.

3 quarts between oil changes seems awful thirsty to me but I do recognize that these babies love oil and each has their own appetite. But since this one isn't leaking and only consuming it may need a stronger antenna mast in the years ahead to hold the oil IV bag when it starts leaking AND consuming oil.

GLWS, one of the prettier ones I've seen in a while.

PS 10k cash and a cruiser seems like a great deal..............needed cash in your pocket while still keeping a cruiser in the driveway. The definition of WIN-WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it is not.

Maybe he changes every 10 to 15k? OP should clarify so things are put into perspective. "Between oil changes" is very vague.

No it's not that at all. MISTER 2 posts... (get a life !!!)

I just don't need to answer a bunch of stupid questions about the most minute things from a bunch of guys that have nothing better to do on a Friday night (after they have gotten tired of watching porn).

If someone wants to know how much oil it burns or what I have done to the cooling system AND they are serious about buying it-PM me.

Everyone else F-off

Usually not a good sales tactic. Not out of line for someone to question the use of 3 quarts of oil between oil changes.

That said, good looking 80!

I'm in the market for an 80, like the way yours is set up, and have been monitoring the thread watching for an answer to the oil consumption question as well since it seems out of the norm. Didn't see a need to hit you with the same that has been asked already, and I doubt I'm the only one. I understand your frustration and get that it's emotional for you, but posts like this to a valid question probably aren't going to help facilitate a sale.
